I know what you mean about Ebs loving her bed, Liah was the same but she seems to have really taken to the mats very easily as long as she has her banks she's perfectly happy :-) so much cleaner and easier though, honestly would save you a load of time. Where did they go last year from the Castle in Llansteffan, I remember you went I was away somewhere and didn't go to that one, where on earth do they park for that meet?

Yeah I spoke to her earlier, I'm glad I didn't go either, I really don't feel well so a soaking wouldn't have done me any good. A bale & half in 7 weeks! That sounds good to me, so far I've only bought them for the barn, I am thinking about putting them in the stable for the girls too. Not sure yet though coz Eb really loves her bed so I don't really want to take that away from her!

Hi Silversox, yes it's not promising it very good at all and I don't fancy towing anywhere in this weather so I'll give it a miss tomorrow and just take her out at home, I think the weather said earlier that it is supposed to be quite dry in the morning and then heavy showers in the afternoon, but the problem I have is the wind and my chest being so tight, but I have to take her out. I'm taking day off Tuesday so if it's nice I may take her for a spin somewhere. I tell you the mats are the best thing I've bought so far, saves so much work and time in the night and so much easier and costs so much less, I just bank the straw on the sides for her, I've only used a bale and a half in 7 weeks :-) At least you're lucky there that you have the school to go to ride in :-) Lou said there were 15 out today and she got drenched and was frozen! Glad I stayed home, I can't risk getting a cold anyway not with me starting radio in 2 weeks time

Louise sorry I didn't text back earlier, we've got no signal here today unless we go outside (coz of the weather) & I don't fancy that, it's chucking it down! I'll be riding 2mrw afternoon when we get back from Tregaron but the 4cast is awful again so I'll probs just go in the school

I'm dreading riding Eb 2mrw, she's been in all week except last night, back in again 2mrw, she was a complete bitch when I rode her Weds so God knows what 2mrw will bring. I'm ebaying tonight too, this weather is costing me a fortune with all the hay, straw & feed I'm getting through. AND rugs, I've had to buy loads more so I have spares for when they come in like drowned rats I have a dry one to put back on. On the plus sode I managed to get some rubber matting on ebay dirt cheap so that will make my life 100 times easier & have bought some new hay racks instead of having to fill nets, every little thing helps in this weather! biggrin.gif

Louise I know the feeling - took Daz out yesterday, oh my god he was so wound up!!!! He was full of it in the lesson Weds but yesterday was even worse!! cheeky git was doing a lovely slow canter on the road when I was asking for trot! and jees as soon as he felt the grass under his feet he was like a rodeo horse!! Quite proud of myself for holding on, I did know that it was coming tho! Left him out last night so he ran around the field like a lunatic and had a lovely long roll!!! bless him!! hes looking so much better since i changed his feed!

Hey Eli, you haven't missed much, Wales did win, but honestly they were crap on the field!! If it weren't for Steven Jones & Shane Williams, can't tell you how disappointed I was with them! I'm going for my soaking tomorrow, have to take Liah out tomorrow as she hasn't been out all week, so no doubt we'll be springing along down the road!!

Snap chunkymoney, I've resorted to doing the same as you! Although I've sat down now to watch the rugby while putting more horsey stuff on my ebay, I need to declutter big time - to make room for more in the January sales biggrin.gif

Something in my distant memory reminds me of my boarding school tradition of 'breaking the ice' on our outside pool as a 'dare'.. yes once a year we literally smashed ice to swim the length of the pool.. I can only brag to having done it once, but I still did it! lol Great fun! biggrin.gif

Its a swim in the sea on Boxing day, fancy dress and fund raising is optional but all adds to the spirit. Welshmisfit and I along with some other couple of hundred people did it last year, there is a brass band to lead you in, its all very well covered by life guards etc. Absolutely bloody freezing and the best way of shaking off the excesses of Xmas day lunch. Highly recommend it. Run in starts at 11 if memory serves correct.

What is the Walrus Dip dare I ask? Living in Pembrey I should know about this but don't! Sounds intriguing.
