The group has been consulted by Npower on the run up to the planning application for windfarms in the Brechfa area. I have sent details of the access we would stand to lose and the intended promoted routes planned including the cross county route which runs through the forest. I will include a section on windfarms in the newsletters to keep everyone informed and who they can make representations to. This development will affect riders in the area but we will be trying to negotiate additional alternative access. If anyone has any questions or information please post it here.

Do you have any maps showing where the proposed wind farm is going to be?

I've heard rumours that there's going to be 25 windmills near Loretta Joynson's farm - quite close to me!! (in between me & Reddragon!)

The map I have doesnt include that area but they are putting a test turbine on Lorretas land i think, close to the bridleway. Until the planning goes in we have no firm details and apparrently npower wont know yet either. Im afraid it is possible. Keep your eyes on the planning bit of the ccc web site in the new year. They are supposed to be putting one in early spring. There are lots of rumours and maps flying around from surveyors but they are still surveying.
