For goodness sake, does anybody know how I can get rid of the smell of haylage on my hands. Its getting ridiculous, I'm getting paranoid about it. I have tried everything including my OH's aftershave, bleach etc. I went shopping to Carmarthen today with Shan and I'm sure people were moving away from me!!!lol

That's an easy one HS. Lemon juice. Or as suggested use gloves. Save yor nails too.

sounds as though your haylage might not be that good! I used to stink when we used it too but have found good hay now. Definitely gloves and lots of strong washing powder!!

Yes this bale was definately wetter and smelled more than my usual ones. Just contacted the farmer and he says that as it sounds like a 'bad bale' he will deliver one tomorrow for a free replacement. Usually the bales are fairly dry and dont smell. Mind you the horses love this smelly bale and are guzzling it.
